Bride & Groom

For those that don’t know both the bride and the groom, here’s a little bit about each of them.

Stacy Carling

Stacy was born in Baltimore, MD on July 2nd and grew up in Bel Air, MD.  Stacy is an only child to Laurance and Pamela.  She graduated in 2001 from C. Milton Wright.  She moved to York, PA in 2009 and started her career in Property Management.

She has a special place in her heart for animals and an obsession for dogs.   She also enjoys reading, bowling, spending time with family and everything Disney.  She now shares some of Joe’s enthusiasm for racing and regularly attends races with him.  She also enjoys going out to eat and judging restaurants by how good their crab cakes are.

Stacy moved to Joe’s home state of New Jersey in the fall of 2016 and still works in property management as an Accounting Assistant.

Joe Allen

Joe was born in Woodbury, New Jersey on December 3rd and grew up in Pine Hill, New Jersey.  Joe is the oldest of child of Joseph and Patricia and a big brother to Colleen and Michael.
He grew up with a passion for muscle cars and auto racing which lead him to attend Camden County Technical School to study Automotive Technology.  Eventually Joe made the career change to Information Technology which lead him to Central PA where he would meet Stacy in 2012.  In 2016 the couple moved back to Joe’s home state of NJ.
Today Joe works for a Philadelphia based Law Firm as an Infrastructure Specialist.  He’s still into cars & racing, but also enjoys home automation, being a beer snob, his motorcycle and his dogs.

Our Story

A brief summary of how these two met, fell in love and headed to the alter.

First meet

January 13th, 2012

With neither Stacy or Joe growing up in Central Pennsylvania the traditional ways of meeting someone were a bit limited.  Both had the majority of their friends settled in states outside of their areas.  As many new relationships are spawned online they both took to a dating website to find a potential match.  It wasn’t long after Stacy signed up that Joe swooped in in his rather sarcastic matter to point out to Stacy that her profile lacked character.
As planned, Stacy took the bait and responded to Joe’s message defending her rather short profile.  From there a conversation started and with it being a Friday night they made plans to meet up.

First date

January 13th, 2012

Friday the 13th would be the day they had their first date.  Applebees in York, PA was the venue.  Joe pounded down two fish tank sized margaritas and told Stacy his whole life story as she sat patiently and listened.  Eventually when Joe took a break from blabbering the two of them got to know enough about each other to make the decision a few days later to go ahead with date number 2.

Challenge Accepted

January 2012

The next day while both on separate dates, the two started texting each other and made plans for the following day.  They enjoyed a movie and then Joe suggested a wine tasting at Allegro Vineyards.

When Stacy replied, “I don’t think I really like wine” he knew the challenge at hand was to show her new things and he knew there was a wine out there waiting for her that she’d enjoy.  He was right!

From that point on they spent their weekends trying new things together that neither would have thought if doing on their own.

Proposal

April 11th, 2020

Proposing was something Joe was ready to do a long time ago, but it had to be perfect.  He researched engagement rings for years (He does this with everything) and when he became an engagement ring expert he finally placed the order for the ring in late February 2020.

At that point his mission was to find the perfect setting to propose.  Maybe a winery, or a nice restaurant or maybe he’d go big and do it in front of a crowd.  A slight hiccup in shipping caused the ring to arrive a few weeks into March, DURING A PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN.

After hanging on to the ring for a few weeks the anticipation and ever ending lockdown was killing him so he just did it.  It wasn’t a spectacular venue or somewhere full of onlookers.   It happened right there in the kitchen.
